Getting started in 5 minutes

1

Join through your trainer's link

Montana is invite-only: your PT sends you a link (WhatsApp, text or email). Open it, create your account — email or Google — and you're automatically connected to your coach. It's free for you.

2

Set up your profile

A one-minute form: your height, weight (kg, lb or stones — your choice), activity and goal. Montana builds your daily calorie and protein targets from it. Everything can be changed later under Profile.

3

Log your first meal

Tap Food → Add food. The fastest ways: describe it(“two eggs on toast and a flat white”), snap a photo (it estimates automatically), or scan a barcode. Review the estimate, tweak portions, save. If a barcode isn't recognised, snap the nutrition label and Montana reads it.

4

Repeat meals in one tap

Eat the same breakfast most days? On the Add food screen, Usual foods re-adds single items and Repeat a meal re-logs a whole previous meal — it asks which meal to add it to.

5

Weigh in when you can

A few weigh-ins a week (first thing, before eating) keeps your trend accurate — and your targets quietly adapt to your real results. See it all under Trends.

6

Train and talk to your coach

Your plan lives under Train — log sets as you go and review past sessions in Workout history. The Coach tab has two threads: the AI coach (instant answers grounded in your data) and your human coach.

Add Montana to your phone: on iPhone open montana.fit in Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen. Native iPhone and Android apps are on their way to the stores.

The coach guide

1

Start your free month

Sign up via I'm a PTon montana.fit — no card needed. Your first month is free; after that it's £27.99/month for up to 20 clients (they never pay). Add your card any time under Billing— you won't be charged until the free month ends, and you can cancel in the billing portal whenever.

2

Set up your invite

In your coach dashboard, create your invite link and write a short welcome message — clients see it, signed by you, when they open your link. Send invites by WhatsApp or text from your phone, or use Invite by emailand Montana sends a branded invitation and tracks who's Pending vs Joined.

3

Know your clients at a glance

The dashboard lists every client with their goal and latest weight; open one for their full picture — intake, weight trend, adherence, measurements and photos (with their consent). Unread client messages are badged so nobody slips.

4

Build training plans fast

In a client's Training tab, draft a week with AI (tell it the split you want, pick kg or lb), paste a plan from anywhere, or build by hand — then push it live. Clients log their sets against it and you can see what they lifted.

5

Stay in the loop automatically

Every morning Montana emails you a client digest— who's on track, who needs attention. If a client message sits unread, they get a gentle email nudge (and so do you).

6

You get the app too

Coaches have their own full athlete profile — log your own food and training exactly like a client. Your clients never see it.

Quick answers

How accurate are the AI estimates?

Good enough to act on, and honest when unsure (low-confidence items are flagged). Anything can be cross-checked against a verified nutrition database, and barcodes use real label data.

Can I log in kg, lb or stones?

Yes — pick your unit during onboarding or on any weight field; Montana remembers it everywhere, including trends and workout logging.

What happens if my trainer's subscription lapses?

Nothing, for you — your account, data and logging keep working. Your coach just can't use their dashboard until they're active again.

How do I delete my account?

Profile → Delete account, or email hello@montana.fit. Your data is removed as described in the privacy policy.

Is Montana medical advice?

No. Estimates, targets and coaching answers are general guidance. For medical conditions, pregnancy or a history of disordered eating, talk to a qualified professional first.
